Wash clothes by hand

Today was my bad day ever.My washing machine broke down.We did called up the technician to fix it but they only come next week. What the heck!!!To be honest,I am not very echo friendly when it comes to this stuff. It's been ages I didn't wash my clothes by hand.I remember when I was 10 years old,I used to help my mom to wash family clothes every single piece and three times a week.At that time,I hate to wash clothes by using hands, but I have no choice because my dad can't afford a washing machine. Our clothesline can accomodate two large loads at a time.I hate to wash heavy linen such bed sheets and blankets because it was too heavy to rinse it.

After married,I have maid who wash our clothes three times a week. After landed here, then I started to use a washing machine.Everything else goes in the washer and dryer after they are clean.Oh boy,I wouldn't want to live without my laundry machine now. It's really hard to get clothes clean if you wash them by hand. You have to bend your body and use lots of energy to work.Even if I washed them by my hand I probably wouldn't do it right. The machine is so much easier and such a time saver.

Now I need to soaked it in the bath tub for at least overnight so that it would be easy to wash.I felt horrible now.

Through the Eyes of Life

It's been along time I didn't write something here.A few months ago, I decided to write a few words to encourage myself to keep my blog active but my body utility control me not to process any update.I'm currently having problem deleting all the sadness and problems.Insomnia was back.It all started since two weeks ago.I force myself to sleep but nothing seem work.I know worrying about tomorrow during the night is not a good idea and it could only makes the problem worse but I really can't stop worrying.Imagine the frustration of being awake in the night till morning. So last night,I prayed and kept on mumble to god.I wasn't expecting him to do anything about it.God bless!Last night is one of the night that I could sleep well.

I always thought I had been through the worst but apparently my cousin sickness takes more complicated process than what I had.One of the most painful moments for me was when I chatting with my cousin who was very, very close to me ever since we were a kid.She told me that she has stones near her liver.I don't know how serious is it but according to her doctor she needs to remove the stone and at the mean time she also needs to take medication to control her sickness. She has had high fever on and off.Her body became thin and weak since last year. She told me she wants to give up in life and keep on thinking negative in her fight.I hope through my comfort and positive encouragement she could think positively.

I can't stop my anger and fearful because of the things she had to go through.I tried to control those feelings and focus on the positive. What I can do now is to pray for her battling sickness and hope she gets her life on track soon cause I miss her so much.I know she is under alot of stress right now and hopefully her life can calm down and she can get well again.

This moments that make me realize how incredibly blessed I am.I know I wouldn’t be the person I am today without the influence of family members and friends. They are my dearest friends.Year 2009 is here.I hope everything could be going smooth and all the bad luck could be washed away like the melting snow.I wish everyone all the best for the New Years. and keep on living with the greatest in life.

Red Rose

Over the last two weeks,I have been given this beautiful Roses from a beautiful Lady.It was an honored to receive an award from Dora.I haven't been very active on the blog lately. After the Thanksgiving day,I had bodily pain.I sprained my neck and all over my back on right in my sleep. This took me more than 10 days to get back into normal.I can't even do house chores.Pheww! What a pain.

Last Friday was Halloween day.And we spent the day at home because we don't have any plan to go.The kids was having fun at school.Ashley won two Halloween prizes in her class and Belinda got so excited when her teacher gave her a Halloween party pack.

There are many I would nominate because they are truly outstanding blogger out there but I needed to send this down to my lovely bloggers. But these are ones that made the final cut to the seven, those whose words stay with me for days after reading their blogs.

The rules of the award are:

Halloween is coming

My kids were very excited for Halloween this year. They can't wait to wear their cool costume to school.Although we don't have any party or celebrate this festive, but we still get excited at about this time. All the store are selling pumpkins and spooky costumes.Yes, Halloween is coming and I usually start posts Halloween the last minute.

After reading the local newspaper, discussion about Halloween safety and I was thinking back then how great those days were, it also got me thinking how things have changed and how sick and sadistic some folks have become these days. I remembered the year that I came here and the very first impression of Halloween had all changed for me.After the best night of "trick or treating" I'd ever had came a TV news flash.I never thought Halloween day could turn out a nightmare to a kid. Some adults was putting Razor blades and needle in chocolates.Halloween was just so scary to me.

It seemed that every year or two after that you'd hear about someone doing something similar. To this day the thought of someone forever spoiling one of the best kids holiday ever, to me is a sick person who are not educated at all."REMEMBER" to warn your "trick or treaters" not to eat their treats until they get home and you've checked them. That's why till today I never allow my kids to go trick or treating. It's a shame that it has come to this but we must do what we must to make sure that they indeed have a "HAPPY" Halloween.

My first Thanksgiving dinner at home

Thanksgiving day is a big holiday for Canadians.Their traditional food on Thanksgiving Day is of course turkey, cranberry dressing and pumpkin pie.

Ashley, wants to eat turkey and celebrate Thanksgiving at home this year. You know kids always thought that it would be fun to have turkey for dinner.Actually,I don't think it's a good idea to have turkey for only few people but at last we decided to buy one anyway.

Last year I had my Thanksgiving dinner in mom in law house. It was only a simple Chinese dinner. However, this year I invite my mom in law and two sis in law to be guests at our table. As I said,I like baking and experimenting with new recipes, but not in cooking. So today was rocked!I got up at 9:00 so that I could cleaned house and bummed around for a while. It was a challenging day to me.If I was going to make this Thanksgiving dinner for someone I'd have to do some planning and it takes a long day to complete the mission.

Lets talk about Thanksgiving dinner photo!
The over baked Turkey :(
I use the Italian sausage, red pepper, parsley, bread cubes and carrot for the stuffing. The turkey was good I guess. It was not very dry and salty.

Actually,I didn't prepare a lot of different kinds of foods.I'm thinking of just making a small turkey, coleslaw, gravy, sweet potato bun, stuffing, yellow rice with raisin and apple pie.

I have never made any of these things in my life so I'm nervous as all heck over here.I only have one oven and the turkey took 3 hours to cook so I can't bake the bun and apple pie on time.It screwed up my plan.oh ya!you know what I forgot to take out the coleslaw from the fridge for dinner.I only remember this after the meal LOL!!!Hubby bought some sushi for the kids in case they don't like the food.It was just a simple dinner. The atmosphere was good and I am happy that the kids were happy to enjoy the turkey.
After the meal,we ate the Apple pie as the dessert.
This sweet potato bun is awesome. These buns are supposed to serve with the meal but too bad they only can try it after the meal.
There is definitely something to be said for getting together a bunch of people for a homemade meal regardless of whatever any of you can cook. The dinner was great though.Over all, this was a happy meal.

Fall is coming

Well, I've finally made it back to my blog.I was too lazy to even update my blog everyday.I play online games whole day and I kinda let the blog go stagnant for more than a week now.Life being so bored lately.Maybe it's because of the weather-cold and wet everyday.

Actually I was quite busy shopping around since last week.Trying to buy cheap and cool Halloween costumes for the girls.Buying a costume for them ain't fun at all. It’s make me wonder whether it’s okay for them to wear some of the outfits.I remember for the first time, they love to have a cute little fairy or princess costumes but too bad so sad!not for this year! And to top it off, my 9 yr old daughter wants a witch with a broom and a hat-you know, the costume has a black cloak that everyone wears.I prefer them wearing a costume depicting an actor’s character not a ghost or witch. It's not really that big of a deal, but I'm too concern about their over imagination.

There is one thing that I don't really like about Halloween is that I have to waste money on costumes that only last a day.I hope I can sew and save.It should be awesome.By the way,it's pouring outside and the little one wants me to play Wii sports with her.She is pretty good in tennis which I always lose to her.Plus there's not much reason that I should not go to play with her right now,so that's what I am going to do.

A half day tour

It's a dreary day.The kind that makes you want to stay inside and sleep all day.It took a lot of effort to get out of bed this morning. But it was the time that I need to get my daughter ready for ballet class. After the one hour waiting at the ballet school,we decided to bring the kids for a half day tour to Downtown. So here we are!The Gastown!!!
Although it's raining we still continue walk around.Gastown is one of the tourist traps where you can find the world's first steam clock which was built in 1977.According to the history, they called Gastown after "Gassy" Jack Deighton is the first man to open a salloon for the sawmill workers that worked here.

It's a nice little attraction but I would recommend Gastown more for its cobblestone streets and gift shops. The Gastown's shops close down around 6pm and the neighbourhood feels vacant immediately so we didn't manage to get into the gift shop.If you only have one day in Vancouver,Gastown is worth an hour. But in my opinion there are better places to explore downtown if you have such little time. There are much more vibrant downtown neighbourhoods such as English Bay, Denman Street, Robson Street, and Yaletown, for evening strolls. However,I have always felt that one of the best ways to learn about the culture of an area is to visit the local Downtown with the kids on the weekend.
