It was kinda surprise to me when I got the newsletter from the school today.My elder daughter's school are encouraging the students and teachers in grade 3-6 to participate in a virtual online word travel adventure game and wants them to be physically active playing the game.
What is Wemuv?Wemuv is a new virtual world and social network for children that provides an educational online gaming experience.It is developed in partneship with physical and health education canada and the WEMUV inc .The most unique about the Wemuv school challenge program involves the interface between the website(www.wemuv.com)and the specially encrypted pedometer that tracks a child's physical activity steps.The activity will be recorded by the pedometer as steps will act the currency for the world travel.The game content is designed to educate the children on general topics including world geography,culture,earth science and social studies.Isn't this cool?

Poptropica- A multiplayer online game and virtual world in which children can travel, play games, compete competition,and complete "island missions".
They are many more online virtual games that are suitable for young kids.It's also important to be aware of what your kids play on the Internet, who they meet, and what they share about themselves online.Just like any safety issue,it's wise to keep a close eye on their activities.
